Our Bachelor of Design program at the School of Architecture, Art, and Design uniquely blends Visual Communication Design and New Media with an Entrepreneurial mindset and a deep understanding of business and the Creative Economy

Year 1

Whether you're just starting out or already have some design experience, your first year is perfectly tailored to enhance your skills.

 

You'll explore Design Fundamentals, Computer for Design, Photography and Moving Images, and Comparative Art History. These courses build a solid foundation and spark creativity, equipping you with the essential tools to turn your ideas into impactful visual communications. 

Year 2

In Year 2, you'll expand your horizons and delve deeper into specialized areas of design.

 

This year focuses on Digital Media, enhancing your skills in Design Thinking, Image Processing,

Interactive Media 1, and 3D Motion Design.

 

You'll learn to apply creative problem-solving to real-world challenges, refine your ability to manipulate digital images, and explore dynamic media and motion graphics. These courses are designed for students at any skill level, aiming to push your creative boundaries and prepare you for advanced design roles.

Year 3

In Year 3, you can tailor your studies to your interests by choosing between two focused modules: New Media and Design or Design Business and Creative Economy.

New Media and Design immerses you in advanced creative techniques, covering Mixed Media Integration, Installation Media,  Animation, Character Design and practical applications in Product and Service Design and UX/UI Design. This module is perfect for those interested in pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and technology.

Design Business and Creative Economy gears you towards the commercial aspects of design. You'll explore Branding and Design Strategies for Business, Art Direction, and gain practical skills in preparing you for leadership roles in the creative sectors.

In Year 4, you have the unique opportunity to expand your learning horizons globally or work your passionate projects in your Capstone Project here.

 

Choose between Overseas Education or an Overseas Internship, both designed to provide you with international exposure and real-world experience. Our program boasts partnerships with over 50 prestigious institutions worldwide, ensuring a wide array of options to enhance your educational journey.

Or you can choose to stay at DICE where you will lead in your Capstone project that you choose to pursue alongside with your mentors at DICE.

Personal works of art, craft, design, communication arts, graphic design, product design, etc., collated into one PDF file (no page limitation). For moving images please submit a link. The portfolio must only contain works created by the applicant; plagiarized information or work is not accepted and may lead to disqualification.



 

 


 

2 Recommendation Letters

The program requests two recommendation letters from individuals who can comment knowledgeably on your academic or professional competencies. These letters should support your application by illustrating your qualifications and potential for success in the program.



 

 


 

Personal Statement

The program requires a one-page personal statement where applicants articulate their aspirations, relevant experiences, and reasons for applying. This is your chance to highlight how your goals align with the program’s objectives and showcase your unique perspective.
